Following the release of the 1979 gold album Night in the Ruts, Joe Perry quit Aerosmith and began working solo via - The Joe Perry Project, with Joe, Ralph Morman on vocals, David Hull on bass and drummer Ronnie Stewart. Their first album Let the Music do the Talking was well received by the critics, sold 250,000 copies and charted at #47. However, the music establishment did little to market The Joe Perry Project material hoping that Joe would return to Aerosmith. In total the Joe Perry Project released three albums with three different lead singers. The last album was released in 1984 - the same year that Joe eventually returned to Aerosmith for the long haul. Sorry folks the JoePerry Project video, Black Velvet Pants is no longer available. There dosen't seem to be any quality video of the Joe Perry Project on the net at this time..my disappointment and yours too I'm sure. Until I can find some JP Project video I have substituted the Black Velvet Pants video with some great Joe Perry footage...RED HOUSE (live 1990) with Joe Perry on vocals and solo guitar. BTW Great guitar work by Brad Whitford too!!
There's a Red House over yonder That's where my baby stays There's a Red house over yonder That's where my baby stays I ain't been home to see my baby Seems like 99 and one half days Now wait a minute I think something's wrong here The key won't unlock this damn door Now wait a minute I think something's wrong here The key won't unlock this fucking door Something bad just because of it My baby don't want me no more That's her loss, that's my gain I'm gonna head out back yonder, I think Back yonder over the hill I'm gonna head out back yonder, I think Yonder over the hill Over the hill 'Cause if my baby don't Love me no more I know her sister will
